Title change on my book.
So my book title was The Drug House. The story revolves around a retired Police Officer who now runs a landscape business. He discovers a body buried in his newly planted landscape at a customers home. This brings him back into the world of being a detective, albeit unwillingly.
For my cover, I found a two story run down house that had boarded up windows and a no paint on the siding. A total mess of a house, and to me, looked perfect for a drug dealer. I took some pictures of it, made them black and white, then had a friend who knows how to do stuff to pictures, blur it, added a hint of purple, put on my title, my name and sent it back to me. I then put it on Facebook on writers group I belong to, and asked for honest feedback. While some liked it, a question began to get asked over and over. Is this a horror story? I guess they saw the dilapidated house that way rather than as a drug house.
So, I scrapped that cover. Then I began to question the title. The story doesn't really take place inside the house, although a small part does. Very small. So I began toying with other titles. Then of course, the cover picture changes too.
So. I have no title. I have no idea for the cover. I have one more read through only for punctuation, then my book is done.
This is harder, and less interesting than any of the actual writing was. The worse part is, I'm so close to publishing that it is driving me crazy!
Well, wish me luck as I get back to it. See you next time.
